He's proposing this in an attempt to lower the costs to the state. Of course, Doyle isn't proposing to pass the savings on to the residents that live in this tax hell known as Wisconsin... The only thing worse than just Doyle is Doyle AND Obama.
Now if they could also do it in illinois that would be cool.
Although I took off the front plate anyways and the cops never pulled me over for it... pulled me over for other things though haha

Somehow I doubt that will happen any time soon. With the recent outlawing of any plate covers it looks like Illinois is far more interested in raising revenue by making plate offenses easier than lowering costs by making plates last longer or reducing the number stamped. BTW, I don't mount a front plate and I haven't been stopped in 18,000 miles although I do most of that driving in another state that doesn't require one. I believe if the front plate is the only offense they see you will most likely be safe.
Good luck and I hope it passes, but based on recent experiences in other states it seems the trend is going the opposite way. In MN, they'll probably try to pass something calling for an additional plate! At least when I drive to RA for the ALMS races if I take my MN front plate off I will fit in...

Here in New Mexico a bill is on its way to Legislature requiring two plates.
Scum bag Doyle better do something to make some money back he just made massive cuts to the Department of Justice and denied more investigators for the internet/child sex crime division! Brilliant move since sex and internet child crime is on the rise!

Have to be honest I love the front plate law, its a easy stop when I am looking for a legit reason to stop people that I know may be transporting or coming or going from our local dope houses so I am in favor for keeping the law. Doyle should be taking care of bigger issues that rather a front plate or no front plate issue!

We don't need comments like this in what started out to be a very positive post! It looks like you would be a lot happier living a few miles south of the border and then we could tax you at toll booths when you came back to visit our great state.

Trust me, he wouldn't be. He would be better off skipping over Illinois and going to Indiana.
You guys will be rid of Doyle soon. We will be stuck with the Chicago political machine forever.
not to knock any LEOs but how many really check the registration via front plate. When you get pulled over, they are behind you. in a parking lot, 99% of the cars are pulled in forward. In most public/private parking lots I thought it was illegal to back into a parking space for that reason, for cars that would be out of state and not have front plates. Just wondering other than a reason to pull someone over, whats the advantage of a front plate?
