More Snow!! [just kidding]

Proposed elimination of the front license plate!

Ahh, the comforting thought of being one small step closer to legal.

Lucky you guys.

My parents live by Lake Geneva. My dad will be happy about that. My dad told me yesterday that Doyle is talking about putting in tolls up there.

Of course he'd legalize it now. I just renewed my Blazer plates, and they sent me a new set of plates (changed out the red letter for black letter plates).

Better be retro-active.
Savings to the state estimated at $800k over a 2 year period.

And yes, the Gov. has said he would consider toll boths on Wi. roads. He's still against the idea, but would let the legislators pass it. With gas comsumption down, so is the gas tax payoff to the state.

My hopes aren't too high yet.

This idea has come and gone in many budget proposals over the years. It always gets knocked down 1, because it is usually tied in with many other more controversial topics, and 2, the State Patrol usually lobbies heavily against the idea, as if it was some critical piece needed for law enforcement. .

Why not give the State Patrol the option...Propose an alternative of $800k in trooper salary cuts. THEN we'll see just how important they feel the front plate really is.

This is great news!
I would even pay 25 bucks a year more for registration just to keep form putting my plate on the front.

Thanks for the info Tom.

Scum bag Doyle better do something to make some money back he just made massive cuts to the Department of Justice and denied more investigators for the internet/child sex crime division! Brilliant move since sex and internet child crime is on the rise!

Have to be honest I love the front plate law, its a easy stop when I am looking for a legit reason to stop people that I know may be transporting or coming or going from our local dope houses so I am in favor for keeping the law. Doyle should be taking care of bigger issues that rather a front plate or no front plate issue!

Somethin' tells me you just might be smart enough to find an alternate reason to stop a car you KNOW "may" be transporting drugs.

Doyle looks like a limp Dic$ to me, not even a hard one, just a limp one.

Thanks for the heads up on the plates!

It looks like I might not want to be driving through the Shawano area anymore as I haven't used a front plate since back in the C3 days when the Vette had a front plate bracket.

"DIAMOND" jim doyle is soooo f'ed in the head that he is doing every thing he can to raise $$$ from us.

two prime examples of his previous "doings" that now have him scrambling to raise more tax payer cash ... (correct me if i'm wrong)

1. passed legislation that stopped the indian gaming authorities requirement to pay millions in tax dollars each year.

2. used state highway funds to give the teachers a pay/benefit raise

so needless to say... a lot of people are not happy with way he has been doing "business".

If he really wants to raise money, he should try selling senate seats, like our ex-governor did. Or selling commercial drivers licenses under the table to unqualified people, like our governor before him.

i would think that if someone was doing illegal activities that there car would be legally spotless so as to not draw attention. A car with no front plate when required would be too easy of a pullover. But like a buddy of mine who is a cop said, "you can almost find an equipment violation on any car if you really wanted to"
