For our upcoming April, 2009 event we are urging that most payments and registration forms be submitted before January 15, 2009 to cover the cost of the deposit for the track rental. Most other aspects of the event itself will remain the same, however we are looking to add several popular vendors onsite that will be selling parts.
For those who are not familiar with our event, we are going into our 9th year running and offer the opportunity for the automotive enthusiast to drive their car on the famed Road America racetrack in Elkhart Lake, WI. We have 4 different run groups available so that whether you are a novice that has never driven on a track before, a seasoned race driver or somewhere in-between, you will be placed with drivers of similar experience. Our event caters to you getting effective track time in a controlled environment, and having fun while doing it. This is a 2 day non-timed, non-competitive event and instructors will be available to for coaching and ride-alongs.
Event alumni includes members from the SCCA, NASA, Midwest Council, Northwoods Region Shelby Club, Porsche Club of America, Badger Bimmers, American LeMans Series, and many other fine organizations.
so this is just a 2 day event where anyone can pay and go on the track for those two days? sounds awsome! How do i sign up and do you know what days theyre on, like sat and sunday? i cant wait, ive been wanting to do this for a while.
Yes it is on a Saturday and Sunday. We also allow all makes and models of cars. If you have never been at Road America before I suggest registering for the Novice group. If you feel more comfortable after a few sessions and want to move up a group you can if there is room in the group you want to move into. Just PM me your email address and I will send you the form that needs to be filled out with the address to send it too.
Hey Carmen you need the liability form signed and sent to you also? And Road America's sight mentions 255 dollars after Jan 1st 09. Which is it, the form price,or 255. Will be sending in a couple of days.
Thanks John.

I highly recommend this event. Unfortunately, I expect to be in Birmingham much of April so I can't sign up at this time. But if you can make the time, go. No other track in North America provides such a great combination of long straights to wring out our big V8s with a nice mix of slow, medium, fast, and very fast corners to show off what America's Sports Car can do. Add in the elevation changes, the very pretty surroundings, and the great people and you have all the ingredients for a fantastic weekend.
That's good news! My daughter's birthday is always on the spring event weekend, this year I won't be able to attend. I'll be at the fall event though for sure!
