Hmm, I have a wedding the day before, if I'm not dead from alcohol poisoning, this sounds like a fun ride.

To the top. FWIW: I heard last night that Utica is a literal train wreck from flooding. The river went 20+ feet over flood level. The lower part of the park (areas near the river) are full of silt from flooding. You should be okay entering the park from the Rt. 71 entrance to the lodge.

How many vehicles are you expecting? Going right past my house and hopefully I can get my morning maintenance out of the way to come out and play.

It is about a 90 min. drive to the lodge, the park is huge and there are many hiking trails. Plan on hiking shoes. Many will want to hike to the top of the Rock, then back to the Lodge for lunch.
You could spend the entire day there. The Burgoo Fest. is going on in downtown Utica the same day,on the other side of the river. The Fest is one of the Largest in ILL. It is just a 1.5 mile drive to the other side of the river if you want to go.
We will be avoiding all the traffic by taking the route posted.
Weather hard to say. At one time Utica had a race track, where I used to race , and many times I left Chicago Area and it was raining and no rain there. But sometimes it was nice here and rain there.

P.S. ,Burgoo is a Prarie Stew and it does not have racoons, or possum

What time do you guys think you'll be going thru Morris, I can wait at a gas station on rt. 47 and jump in then.
Someone please chime in and let me know.
Thanks, Jim

It would be nice to get about 20 vettes on this cruise, just like last year.
We had a good time.

Hi Jim, I would join along with you along 47 but the big show/swap meet is also the 12th in Morris and I'll be there selling stuff.
