Default Cook County taxes are highest in the nation?

Good Gawd Almighty! I thought taxes were high in Michigan, but hoo boy..this takes the cake!

With double digit taxes like this, you should get universal health care thown in for good measure!

It is absolutely criminal. I normally try to travel outside of Cook County to make major purchases. I plan on doing it more and more. I am going to actively try to boycott spending money in Cook County as much as possible.

My hatred for this County and entire state is growing stronger every day. I am getting more serious about moving by the minute.

It looks like my arch enemy Larry Suffredin played a part in this too.

The swing vote to pass the budget came from Commissioner Larry Suffredin, who campaigned for state's attorney on a boast that he had "stood up to Todd Stroger's tax increases," and as of early Saturday, his Web site still quotes him as saying "at this point, I see no need for any increase in taxes."

Stroger and Suffredin should both be held under water till the bubbles stop..... friggin liberal criminals, they want to take money from people who actually work and purchase goods to people who dont work and steal everything they own....... thier IQ combined is still in the single digits.

If you think the state is bad, if Obama gets elected the country will be in a sad state. You may as well quit working and stand in line for a hand out instead of paying taxes so well-fare mama's can sit home and get insurance and food and housing at our expense. Sorry for the rant, its been a long day.

The bad thing is that it will only get worse. What really pisses me off is that politicians over spend and then raise taxes to make up for it. I truly wonder how they think the middle and lower class are going to survive. I'm so tired of these idiots! They're also predicting gas prices will go over $4 a gallon this summer. I guess I'll just have to plant another money tree in my backyard.

Asinine politics. We have the same problem here. Instead of controlling spending and cutting costs they just keep raising taxes. People that live there are forced to foot the bill while people like me avoid spending in your city like the plague. It drives business away which in the long run will result in less tax revenue, not more.

Taxes are part of life, but fiscal responsibility by our states government is absent. We hand out money to people too lazy to work and us hard working business owners suffer because they need our tax dollars to support these programs designed to enable lazy people to stay home and make babies. They should have a limit on how many kids you can claim for well-fare recipients; you shouldn't be able to sit home with 4-5 kids and collect money. One per customer!

AMEN

Everytime I turn around its more money for this or that program..... Money so Rod Blafagovich can commute back and forth across the state in a plane that costs god knows what to operate.... Im sure he pays top buck for that horrible hair style as well. Politicians need to be held more accountable for frivilous spending PERIOD....

Dont get me started on the "sit at home on my lazy AZZ watching Springer all day" freeloaders..... We need waaaaaaay more audits on people getting handouts, if you truely need it that is one thing.....abuse it and its another.

I just moved from Schaumburg to Sugar Grove …. Stupid Cook County Taxes ….

Much more house … way more land … once the Freaken Snow melts, long roads to stretch out the Vette.

No Bars, more time on the road to get to work, F’ckn Satellite sucks, takes forever to get to Ohare Airport … F’ckn Corn Everywhere.

Oh … wait … looks like you pay one way or another everywhere you go … What I save in Taxes I spend in time and gas on the road.

Thank God I kept the Schaumburg House in good old Cook County for rental.

So where’s that place called Utopia?

Remove those two and what do you have … two less and thousands more.

I guess we’ll need a better solution …

How about something different?
