Call Chris at Powerhouse Performacne 708-342-0043 (Orland Park), he can probably help you dyno your car and he has access to a very nice dyno jet in Mokena (at High Speed Performance). Chris get's in from 11 to 8 everyday Monday through Friday and he will be glad to talk to you and fill you in with details!

You can also try FLP (1-877-357-2946) in Naperville, Dan Bill's is the best in the Midwest when it comes to tuning and getting it right the first time, Good luck.

All of the above are good choices. You should consider Speed Inc in Schaumburg as well.

Alot of the shops in the area with Dyno's unfortunately dont have the means to tune the L-98 cars, these cars use a chip instead of PCM tuning software. I would PM forum member -=JEFF=- he is probably one of the best in terms of knowledge of the L-98 cars, I believe he even burns his own chips. Im guessing your gonna have to pay for dyno time at a shop and have an outside source helping you with the tuning/chip burning process.

I would be curious to know if any of the local shops can/will tune a L-98 set up. Keep us up to speed on your findings please

Mike

Thanks for all the help. The fact that it has a chip seems to be the problem. I ordered a chip from pcm4less. But I would like to have it dynotuned, so I guess they would have to reconfigure the chip.

Tommy,

Anyone else know the name of the ZR1 high performance shop on North Ave. near me in the Villa Park area. I am sure they could point you in the right direction if not handle it themselves. They specialize in making all C4 Zr1s go REALLY FAST and our in the west suburb of Chicago, Villa Park, but can't think of their name but TOMMY or someone else probably knows.

Also, you can reach out ot member Dominick Sorresso here who has a ZR1 and he would know or could hook you up with someone else.

Mike MVR suggestion is a real good one about talking to this guy call JEFF (believe that's his forum name) and he is the king of the L98s!

Also, call Street Stuff in Addison, IL, and they can steer you in the right diretion and probably give you name of Zr1 shop since they are 5 minutes away!

I just thought I would throw some pictures up. The motor is in and running. Just needs some fine tunning and I have to put the hood back on.The car really seems strong and it looks like i will be spending alot of money on tires. Hope to see you guys at some of the events this summer. Thanks again for all the help Tim

Awesome pix!

Since you already ordered a pcm4less tune I think that you could go to any dyno and send them your results. Then they will update your chip and fine tune.

If you want I would be willing to run some TunerPro scans on your OBDI
computer so you can get your chip fine tuned. I started doing my own tuning about 3 years ago on my Modified MiniRan 89 so I could pass "the then required IL emissions test". Have done about 120 burns using Moates equipment. I live in the South West burbs and at present I am between consulting assignments. This is of course at no cost to you just a service to another ill corvette owner like me. Phil
