Default Help!! hood on 84 won't open

I have an 84 vette and either the cable on the driver side is streched out or pinched. I have found out about a special tool to realease the hood and was wondering if anyone has one and can get the hood open.

Burnin:

I have an '84 as well and it did the same thing to me several years ago. Just open the door, pull the hood release lever and hold. Take a pair of pliers and grab each cable(2) individually and pull down towards the doorsill. The hood should pop open no problem. This is a temporary fix; you will eventually need to replace the entire cable/level assembly(all one piece) to permanently eliminate the issue.
