Default Road America 2008 Schedule

Auto racing: Road America's 2008 schedule announced

For the second straight year, the American Le Mans Series and Champ Car World Series will race at Road America the same weekend.

The Elkhart Lake racetrack's schedule of events for 2008 was released over the weekend on its Web site. Dates are tentative and subject to change.

The ALMS and Champ Car weekend is scheduled for Aug. 7-10. The Generac 500, featuring the ALMS sports cars, will again be held on a Saturday (Aug. 9). The Champ Car Grand Prix will be held Sunday (Aug. 10).

Other events on the schedule include the AMA Suzuki Superbike Doubleheader (June 5-8), the Piggly Wiggly/ Chicago Region SCCA June Sprints (June 19-22) and the Kohler International Challenge (vintage cars) with Brian Redman (July 17-20).

Season tickets for the entire season are available for $340 each through Dec. 14. The cost increases to $390 on Dec. 15.

We had a great Chicago Crew outing at the ALMS this year, so I am definitely planning on doing it again in 08. Glad to hear the race is on Saturday again next year.
