For those of you not going to Funfest, there is a car show at Cantigny from 9 am to 3 pm on Sunday September 23rd. Cantigny Park is located just south of Winfield IL, and while the park is free, they do charge a couple of $$ for parking.
Location: Elmhurst, IL (West Suburb of Chicago) & Home of MEGA Horsepower
Thanks GREAT INFO. I have been looking to go to CANTIGNY PARK and this might be just what the DOCTOR ORDERED!
Coming W/B on Roosevelt Road passing County Farm Road, what street to I turn on to get to the show and is it a left or right hand turn from w/b Roosevelt Road?

Randy (RWH) this would be a great event for you to show your vette. You would have no problem getting a trophy.
Thanks Frank, after missing RM last night and seeing you guys at the Good Guys show, it kinda got me, well you know!!!!! It would be nice to see a bunch of the crew there, but I know schedules are tight, seeing as I have next week off, I can't come up with many excuses. So far, the wife and I/ pouch will be leaving early in the am to attend this event. Not sure where I'm going but I will use the force to find the location and if that does not work I will use the GPS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have one but it sounds good!!!!!!!!!
Continue west down Roosevelt past County Farm. The next light is Winfield Road. Go south on Winfield Road (take a left), and the entrance to Cantigny is on the east side (left side) of the road about a mile down. Can't miss it.
They have a great military display and museum, and gardens to keep the significant other happy.
Hope to see you there.

FANTASTIC car show, in Catigney Park with about 300 cars attending, in the perfect setting, with perfect weather, and a KILLER WAR MUSEUM also (which I have been meaning to tour the last 5 years and finally made it)!
Was great seeing and talking with RANDY (RWH) and wife, IRISH ED (and his wife) and meeting BRETT (who turned us on to this event).
Also met a guy with a GORGEOUS 1965 Mag Red color, mint, GTO convertible, who is interested in trading for the GREEN MACHINE. Depending if its numbers matching or not, the car was cool and clean enough to warrant a potential trade (but probably not)!

What a great day and show. They had a little bit of everything, which kept it interesting. It was great meeting Jim, and Randy and his wife. Here is a bunch of pictures.
Hey Brett, it was also nice meeting you and the wife. Thanks for the heads up on this show. Sat. when I came back from the Good Guys Show in Joliet, naturally I immediately hit the formum and saw your post. It was a very nice show and a great location. It was nice that they left a full space between cars, no crowding, and the weather, well it couldn't be better. Other than showing up with our pouch DRESSED in his CORVETTE attire, we were sent packing (no dogs allowed).
And for Jimmy, it is allways interesting hanging with him wheeling & dealing. We may see him driving around in a mint GTO, I think it was a VERY sweet '65. LOTS of chrome and a great paint job.

There were a lot of nice Goats there, but I thought that stood out because of the engine bay detail. Come on, dump the Mopar and go all GM.
