well i had to open my big mouth and say there weren't any by my house. Wellll they have made a move into my neighborhood. or they are just that loud that they seem to be so close

There are a lot of them in the Highland Park area. It is hit or miss though. You can drive around with the windows down and easily hear where they are and where they aren't.

The inevitable happened.

I got hit in the face by one at 50 MPH on the bike today.

It's weird. In Wheaton we do not seem to have any. Cross the line 10 feet into Glen Ellyn and they are everywhere. I heard that Wheaton has a local law against cicadas, and that may be the reason they don't go there.

haha me too i went out riding sat & sun and it felt like rocks being thrown at you.

I didn't think we were going to get hit too bad (we live in a newer sub in Romeoville) but all of a sudden they came two days ago...made their way from the forest preserve behind the house. Ugh. I'm worried about my new peach, apple, and cherry trees....bastards.
