Ohio LEO & NY Rock

Well what started out as a trip to visit friends turned bad quick. First on overzelous LEO in the Peoples Republic of Ohio. Group of vehicles; cargo van, suv, older Buick and me all crusing on 80 / 90 around 75 mph or so... LEO sees yellow Vette wil IL plates...... Guess who gets the ticket

Get to within about 7 mile of my destination; the dump truck in front of the car in front of me drops about a 6" rock. The car in front of me goes over it. Too much oncomming traffic to use the other lane; Rock bangs around under the car, dents left header and takes out oil filter.

Have the car flat bedded to my friends house (<5 miles

) drink beer; get ramps; drink beer; push car up on ramps; drink 2 beers; crawl under to take a look, realize it is only the oil filter; drink beer; change filter and add oil; drink beer; fire it up, no leaks, good oil pressure, realize I am licky and it could have been much worse, back car off of ramps, and continue with the beer!

sorry to hear about the string of bad luck Len. It could have been worse. Glad everything turned out better after it just being a damaged oil filter

That sucks

I had the same thing happen to me last week on Rt 53. Talk about feeling paralyzed no time to react.
Took out my oil filter, took a chunk out of the front carriage and continued to rattle and dent everything all the way back. The worst part is the week before that I just had an alignment done

Sorry to here about your mishap your lucky it was the oil filter my mishap cost me $475.00 last week ran over a damn retread

took out air farrings ,radiator support,and inner fenders the roads are a mess I think for the motoring public they should be banned.

yep; O-hi-ya police are famous .... more like infamous. Sorry your visit here left bad memories.
