South Central In. Crash a Parade Anyone??
Hello.
Freetown, Indiana is out little wide spot in the road about 20 miles south of Nashville, In. on State Road 135. Most Hoosiers with a car or motor bike know this to be a beautiful place to run the hills and curves.
Every July the town has a parade and jamboree to raise money to keep the fire truck running, but could not even hold the parade for the last few years due to budget constraints. Years past we always had 10-20 convertibles, muscle cars, rods, etc... mixed in with the horses and buggys and were always a hit.
I just checked in and was told that they are going to revive the parade this year on JULY 8 at 1:00 PM, and could I arrange to get some cars rounded up.
This sounds to me like a perfect reason to get out your Vettes for a day in the country for a drive and maybe even buy a baked good!
Should not conflict with 4th plans either!
For starters: My 59 Corvette, Wife's LS6 Camaro, Dad's 53 Bel Air Convertible.
Anyone else think they can join up?? Maybe we can even turn it into a car show within the event.
Thanks,
Bill Sewall

Reminder and update for JULY 8.
Getting pretty good response to this, should be a good bunch of cars. Everything from an 8 yr old kid with his jr. dragster to a $450,000 Porsche Carrerra GT. Should be a good bunch of Corvettes and muscle cars too.
Hope to see you all there. Registration @ 11:00 AM, Parade @ 1:00 PM. Have some trophies and goodies from Griot's Garage for prizes. No entry fee either, so if you were going out for a Saturday drive anyway, come on down.

Yes, bring 'em on. Sorry I missed your responses for a few days.
Interesting cars of all makes welcome.
Thank you for the interest. Any of you coming from the same general area should try to hook up for a caravan.
From Indy, 135 all the way, or for a quicker route, I-65 to Nashville exit Hwy 46. 46 west about 13 miles, turn south onto 135 then nail it for 20-22 miles. We're right on 135 at a church parking lot for the start.
