L98Terror,

Looks like he only read the title of your thread based on his response that didn't answer any of the race related questions

Unless, he accidentally responded to the wrong thread with his statement above

By the way:

I know we were talking about this during the winter and I would like to thank Mike (Tim) Mercury for his efforts but it ended up to be to far for a one day trip which most of us wanted . I do not blame him he took on a big task an he did good ...... so if you post a friendly challenge with a time and a place close enough to you and Chicago were we can make it there and home the same day I think you will get some interest we have some good road racers here and some big HP cars . so if it's drags or road racing should be fun . J.M.H.O .

The quality of life in Detroit pales in comparison to Chicago. In fact, the only advantage Detroit offers is its proximity to the excellent T-bars in Windsor, Canada (just kidding, of course).

So are you in??? I thought that is what this thread was all about???

Gratton is 2 hours from Detroit and 2 from Chicago.
A few of us Detroit guys are going, are any of you Chicago guys going?
I guess since we had to hear about all this HP that you got to drive all winter, we want to see it on the track.

First of all, Mike Mercury's event has NOTHING to do with the Grattan Racing Event. Plus, Mike Mercury's event does not have a road racing event planned. The Grattan Race Course I believe is on the west side of Michigan, which is probably closer to Chicago than Detroit.

Once again, Mr. Johnnyvettes fails to read the follow-up posts from others, and simply provides an answer unrelated to the discussion at hand.

if I remember correctly Tim set his cruise in up to try to get us together . that being said if enough interest in the Chicago crew I would be up to coming out . if no one from Chicago is interested then I will not come up by myself . this has been a pissing match from the beginning . What i meant in my post is if you would have posted from the start (Hey Chicago crew) I have set up a place to meet and race I would love for you to come out and have fun then this would not be a pissing match again . but from the start (one more reason Detroit is better then Chicago ) you started it all over again . and if I'm wrong i am truly sorry but that is how i perceived your post ..............truly i don't care which city is the best they both suck ! I would rather be on Maui . then living here in this 9 month ice box we call the mid west

Johnny, no hard feelings. You said it yourself "JUST HAVING FUN"
I think Ken's intentions was to get your attention in a joking manner. That's all.

Scroll up to the original post, and read what Ken wrote about the Grattan event. He starts off with "Because we drive better" with a smilie character, hence conveying a joking statement. Then he provided the info to the May 11th Grattan Race Event.

Do you want Ken to post a new thread specifically asking your crew to come out for this event?

Here is the link to the event info:
May 11th Grattan Race Day

Chicago is better than Detroit. Trust me, I have lived in both cities. The good part is Detroit is trying to make a come back. Actually, General Motors is donating a lot of money to try and improve the city. Detroit will probably be a great city in a few decades from now but until then Chicago has it beat by a long shot.

After reading the Chicago posts I'd think there was something in the water making difficult to read, but I called one of my friends from there and he can read fine.

You may have to translate your topic about Grattan to the native language of Chicagoland. (Remember, they are their own sovereign region)

So I guess nobody from Chicago wants to go racing?

Good luck with running your Chicago Mob.
