Default ok some bad news....need your help guys

Ok....pulled a stupid move last night....tried to parallel park, i was in a hurry cause i needed to get some medication to my dad and i was in a big rush. Long story short, ive got some deep scratches on the back half of the passenger door and the rear quarter panel. No i wasnt under the influence, I only had 1 beer in the 4 hrs i was there. It was just a stupid move by me caused by rush and being worried. I need to know, what you guys recomend for insurance wise. and also what body shop to take the car too. Any experiences, good/bad. I only want the best for my baby. Thanks for your help and I hope that your 1st few hours of New Years went better than mine did.

I havent had to use them for a while now but I've only used M&V Autobody in Schiller Park. The owner is also a Corvette owner.

Coach light auto body is exellent as is D&M Corvette in Downer's Grove but they are not cheap. ALso, GERBER autobody and West and SOns both in the ELMhusrt area are decent and i have used both in the past!

Sorry to hear about this crappy start to the New Years but it certainly could have been worse!!

Thanks...im not too worried about price because I am goin to claim it to insurance. I just want a good job done and not have to worry about color matching and other problems that may come down the road from these repairs. If there are other suggestions, I will gladly take em and look into em. Again thanks guys and Happy New Year!

Dave that totally sucks man! I would try contacting TommyN also, he would not steer you wrong. Sorry to hear about this, and good luck, I am sure you'll get your baby back to brand new

as much as we all love our cars, you were trying to help out family which always comes first no matter what, hope your dad is okay too

Thanks Frank. Yea my dad is ok now. Seems that he doesnt remember anything after midnight and would not let us test his blood sugar, so we had to wait until after he passed out and that was like 2 hrs later when we did test, his sugar was fine. So not sure what happened adn niether does he. But he says hes fine. Now that hes ok, I blame him for my mishap....haha, j/k

Default Sorry to hear the bad news

Dave;

Talk with "BLOWN ECS Z06" and "tommyn" and I think they will recommend Astro Auto shop on 4956 W. Belmont Ave., CHICAGO, IL in the city. I have not used them myself but It worth a try.

I know that Jim and Tommy spend alot of time in there.

PS.. Very close to my house so if you headed into the city drop me line when you will be there.

As I mentioned before Central Autobody in Roselle is the best there is. See John (the owner) or Tony and tell him Ted Cucci sent you. They will take care of your baby. He does many Vette's and vintage restores as well as regular body work. They are the best. Oh yea, they did my custom work and he also has 2 C6's.

You might want to rethink that! Claiming something that small on insurance isn't worth it. In the long run you'll pay alot more in premiums than just paying 3k out of pocket. Good luck!

Yea this is why im running around lookin for estimates to see if it is worth to claim it or not.

I wish i had the money to trade in and upgrade, but i love this car and am very happy with it. Besides the 01 Z has been my dream car since it first came out and thought that i wouldnt own one till after i got married and had kids and crazy stuff like that. The damage isnt as bad as i make it out to be, but its still bad to me.
