Default stl c3 sharks - drag races July 22nd

Hey stl c3 sharks, would anyone be interested in going up to Gateway Raceway on July 22nd for "Midnight Madness"? For $20 bucks you can drag race as many times as you can get on the track from 8pm till 3am the next morning. Thought it would be kind of fun. www.gatewayraceway.com is the website, click on Drag races.

I've never been drag racing on a real drag race track and thought it would be a fun way to legally see what we've got.

That would be fun, but too far away for me. Did you try posting this in the C3 General section?

I'll post my ET after this Friday. My 76 was originally a L48, but a previous owner cloned a L82. From what I can tell it should be pretty close if not a little more potent than a stock 76 L82. http://www.corvettearchives.com shows a 76 L82 @ 16ish in 1/4. We'll see. I've just tuned the carb and recurved the advance in the distributer, but already probably runs 3 seconds better in a 1/4 than when I first got it:
1) had 7 of 8 plug wires connected
2) secondary fuel bowl of holley carb was adjusted so that there was no fuel in it
3) mechanical advance in distributer was stuck in the advanced position, timing set at 10*

now,
1) all 8 cylinders!
2) secondary fuel bowl float adjusted properly
3) advance curve kit (springs/weights), mech advance free'd up,
timing at 36* at 3000rpms, 16* at idle

Okay here are the results:

I made 2 passes, then sat in the stands for a while with STL C3 Sharks, then made 1 more pass:

pass 1: That track is STICKY!! I rev'd to about 2500rpm and popped the clutch, front end jumps, then dives as it bogs down as the tires start sticking, 69silver has a good video of it and I'll post when I find a place to post the 30meg video file.

pass 2 - learned how to launch - reaction time was slow cause the NICE camaro next to me went a 10.9 and I actually watched him take off a little - his reaction time was .141

pass 3 - better reaction time - bad shift points E/T consistant.

pass1 pass 2 pass 3
R/T: .521 .752 .380
60: 3.182 2.163 2.369
330: 7.670 6.334 6.634
1/8: 11.190 9.813 10.116
MPH 70.28 70.62 70.65
1000: 14.211 12.799 13.103
1/4: 16.744 15.311 15.639
MPH 89.06 89.35 88.94

HAD A BLAST!!!!!!
