Shop warning & request for help - Bobby Smith Corvette in Ypsilanti Michigan
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...n-install.html
Details in link, but basically my dad got taken, he's old and I think medical issues and medication put him in a mental state where he was ripe to be taken advantage of. Before last year, he was even knowledgeable about cars I would say - used to talk about his snowstorm camshaft installs on his 69 Charger R/T.
So if anyone knows this Bobby Smith or has any dealings with Bobby Smith's Corvette shop, let me know.
I have emailed and deliberately not called until I can get more info. Will likely just stop in unannounced.
If anyone wants a C3 350 powered corvette for cheap, let me know via PM. If you can help out in some way, even better, but just looking to move on from this.

Wow your father really got taken advantage of... definitely will never take my business there. I'd contact the BBB like some guys said in the post you linked. Onto the question, what year is the car & what other information do you have?

I hope you can get this resolved - even if it means taking whatever legal action you can against them.

It is a 1979. He has owned it since 1986 approx and it has just sat in the garage for nearly the whole time. Its a great frame, I'm sure the birdcage is immaculate. Otherwise it is just a basic C3 with a low power engine, just has cam, headers, Al intake now. It has 68k miles I think. One of the tires had to be replaced, but otherwise it still had its original Polyglass tires even.

I've driven past that shop hundreds of times over the years and always thought "no way would they touch my car", then again, I don't let many people work on my cars. I hope things work out for you and your dad and you get the car back and can enjoy it

I finally got a chance to stop by, but it was on the weekend and they were closed. But it looks like a war zone, no way I would take a rusty yugo there. We got the car out of there at least, I have to resolve the rest.
