Upcoming Events- STL Metro Area
March 27: Annual Easter concourse d'elegance car show, upper & lower lot of the Muny in Forest Park, St. Louis. This is typically the first big show of the year and rarely disappoints.
April 2-3: Mid-America swap meet, Effingham, IL.
April 3: April Fools auto parts swap meet, Monroe County Fairgrounds, Waterloo, IL. Gates open to the public at 7 a.m.; outdoor swap spaces are $20 in advance, $25 day of meet.
April 9th: Gateway Classics car cruise at Gateway Classic Cars, Fairmont City, noon to 5 p.m. Host is Looking Glass Corvette Club
April 10: Class Pack Swap Meet, Altamont, IL, Effingham County Fairgrounds. 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission $2/person. Part auction at noon. For more information, call 217-234-6372
April 16: Cruise night at Johnny Rocket's, sponsored by Lakers Car Club, 6 - 9 p.m. Located on I-64, exit #16 at Green Mount Road in Shiloh, IL.
May (date TBD): Annual Corvette display at Jack Schmitt Chevy in O'Fallon, IL.

I have never been to one! I'd like to cruise over for one of them this summer. I'm about 60 minutes from there.

They were pretty good last summer. However, there is now a Crackerbarrel in the field where we used to park. I suspect parking will become more of an issue, but as for now, there is still plenty. LOTs of cars show up, and if you want to eat, Johnny Rockets is a fun place even when there is no car cruise there.

This days off in the middle of the week thing is really screwing up my social life.
Hey and did you notice how BUSY that Cracker Barrel got....quick. It's almost as bad as the Red Lobster in Fairview.

Corvette Show in St. Charles (Missouri) June 12th
Don't forget the Route 66 Corvette Club will be hosting it's annual Corvette Show for Charity on June 12th, at Vettes Restaraunt in St. Charles, MO.
Located on Hwy-94, mid way between I-70 and I-40.
I'll post a flyer in a seperate post when it becomes available.
Always a good turnout, several forum members do show up.
Nice trophies as well as good food!

Bunch of us are meeting at the Quick Trip at T. R. Hughes & I-70 at 12:00 noon on Friday for the cruise to Columbia.

Jim, I'll be making the Gateway Classics car cruise along with a few of the "usual suspects" from the LGCC. I attended the Johnny Rockets Car Show last year and I have to wonder where they will park all the cars now that Cracker Barrel has moved in. The place was a mad house last year.

I really need better days off so I can do stuff before 2:00 pm on weekends. It's gonna be tight over there. Maybe, they'll just eat up some Target space?

I'll head down to gateway classic cars on Saturday, may be there a little later since I work till noon and was going to change the oil on the rat after work. Hope to see a few of you there.
