Default No hijacking

Hijacking a thread is coming into an existing thread and posting messages which are irrelevant to the original thrust of the thread. It is inappropriate in most instances, so please don’t do it.

The exception is as follows:

On a non-serious thread in the Off Topic section, it is okay to “hijack” a thread if it is done in fun and the originator of the thread has specifically stated in the initial post or in his signature affixed to the first post that hijacking is welcome.

Some report they cannot see the thread in the above-referenced link.

It was a thread created Oct. 10, 2002 by Troy Roberts:

THREAD HIJACKING - I SUGGEST YOU READ THIS ONE.

This is simple. Don't do it. If you do it you will be banned. It's impossible to have a decent thread with hijacking going on. It's out of hand. It can bring down the entire section and make it impossible to have a decent OT conversation.

Go ahead - make my day - hijack this thread. You will lose posting rights to the entire forum in a split second.

This is no longer a lose a few points offense. This is a bye-bye offense.
