Hello,
I just bought a 1972 spare with original tire marked " Temporary Use Only" for $65.

So that may be the current value of these spares....or I got one great deal.

I don't believe that you have an original tire for a '72. The original spare was identical to the other four tires.

After 33 years in the spare tire tub I would not drive on that tire. The rubber has degraded and is unsafe for normal operation. If you want to drive it from the trailer to the show field go ahead anything more would be crazy.

Any tire more the 4-5 years old is probably not safe at highway speeds regarless of the milage on it.

I bought my 30000 mile 72 four years ago and it had the original untouched spare, which is a normal production tire, matching the other four. Rest assured, if you have something marked emergency use only, it isn't original.
