Where to find lacquer to repair paint?
I have a 69 Daytona Yellow Convertible which has lacquer on it. It has some places where the paint is cracking and peeling. Where can I get color matched lacquer to repair it? I live in Houston.

I haven't had any luck with the Yellow Pages yet. I have tried half a dozen auto paint suppiers in Houston so far and they don't know where to get it.

Only place you will find lacquer is the automotive paint stores. Just keep calling. Have a few here in Cleveland that mix paint, but shipping is a problem...hazardous material.

Try the following link and click on PPG refinish products and search for distributors using your zip code.

Laquer is not available in all states but it is in Ohio. If it is not available in Texas let me know and perhaps we can work something out.
BTW, if anyone needs a gallon of Nassau Blue laquer let me know I decided to go with Acrylic Urethane after I bought it.

Tasco Auto Color at Yale and I-10 in the Heights can color match lacquer in Houston. I would like to thank John McGraw who directed me to Tasco Auto Color. They also sell lacquer in Austin.
Thanks for everyones help.

That's cheap, did you open the can since they mixed and sealed it?

Hey Dave,
If the "Dawg" doesn't buy I believe I would.
Admittedly I -HAVE- two gallons currently of "old Nassau Blue".
I have never painted my '66 Coupe after all these years........
My two gallons are "Triple Sealed" but who can tell after oh....17 years right?
I have a 100% job to shoot at some point, doors,jambs, headlights,etc.
I will be guilty of "Over-Restoration" most likely, such is life!
Regards....Cholo

Cholo,
If you or anyone else wants it let me know. I will caution you that it may be a different formula than what you bought 17 years ago (I have heard but do not know).
If no one here wants it I may try E-Bay to see if there is any interest.

True, if mixed by hand, but now, paint stores have different mixing equipment, and are more precise than in the past.
