Default career couseling needed

I have a great passion for corvettes and performance. How would I get myself qualified to be in the field of professional racing as a technician/team member? I don't have any type of education in the mechanical engineering or training. What are some schools that are out there that offer opportunites to go in this field? I really love working on cars (especially corvette) in all aspects, but nothing is more exciting than developing a race car. Many THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE!!!

Whoooo..........
DEEP SUBJECT!

Bud,....Racing is -NOT- a career. Not for the unwashed and non-inheritence of
a mass fortune majority of us.

Nope.....no career, it's a LIFESTYLE. Get ahold o9f that now.

24/7/365, jus' like prison. You just never really leave it.

Great old proverb-
"To make a small fortune in racing....START WITH A LARGE ONE!''

But if you want to end up in CART, Trans-Am, TRASHCAR Car Cup,NHRA,
you need to "SHOW UP".

You want to turn wrenches, change tires,DATA colllection,Set up chassis,do chassis design,????

You are in College Park, they have a fine Engineering Program there.
Could be a good start no matter WHAT you decide to do.

But racing? Car design? You don't work it, YOU LIVE IT!
House? Car? Boat, Friend's, family......Who has the time?

Just been my own obvious observation for now 25 years,of being around many areas and levels of this endeavor.

Good luck and good hunting!

Regards......Cholo

Well, I wouldn't know if I didn't ask someone. You make it sound so terrible. Everyone here lives atypical lifestyle. I'm looking for a change of pace to break up all this monotony. I get bored of things so fast. When I have a passion for something, I tend to dedicate my life towards it. From what your saying it looks like a long climb up. NEED TO GO TO SCHOOL. sux!!
