Default 69 exhaust tip question.

I bought the correct exhaust tips at the Orland meet. I have the AIM but it doesn't specify how far out the tip should extend. Where they look like they should be appears pretty far out. If I push them back toward the muffler they sile off of the narrowed down potion and fit loose. Yeah... I know it's a no brainer but I just want to do it right because when I clamp it.. It will be hard to move it later.

Default Re: 69 exhaust tip question. (silvervetteman)

Ive been looking at other cars for that lately.Ive got a 68 and had the same question. It seems like almost all of the ones I see stick out about 3 inches or so.It looks odd but I think thats right .I have seen some that are only 1/2 inch or so but they always have black soot on the exaust panel,so I wouldnt do that. :seeya
