Got a question on what would be the correch tach.......
I'm currently re-building a 70 LS-5 roadster. The car came with a 5600RPM redline tach which I'm pretty sure is incorrect. While its not a NCRS resto - I'd rather stay as close to original as possible. Ya never know maybe I'll change paths later  . Anyway since the dash is out of the car now is the time to locate the correct tach. From the searches i've done I think the correct redline is 6000 RPM.
Can someone confirm this before I buy an incorecct part........again :)
Re: Got a question on what would be the correch tach....... (70BBvert)
Low horsepower hydraulic engined cars with either SB`s or BB`s have the lower redline tachs and would be correct if so equiped. The high HP engines {solid lifter style} are red lined at 6500. I believe the LS5 is hydraulic. c:cheers:
