Default Early 70 Carburetor Question

I am looking for a Rochester Quadrajet Carb No. 7040207, dated before 2-20-70, to replace the incorrect one currently on my car. If I go back six months into 1969, the number would have then been 7029207. Would this pass an NCRS judge as long as it is not over six months prior to my build date?

Nope, to be correct and get full point credit it has to be the 7040207; the 7029207 is only correct for a '69.

Thanks, JohnZ.

I figured that was the answer, but I thought I would ask.

You might want to check with Juliet. She has a somewhat early 70, and I believe she learned that Carter built some Qjets for the 70s. They might be easier to find than the right Rochester. MJ

NCRS requires Carb number be correct and the date be no more than 6 months prior to the build date.
