Re: In Honor of 67Hvn and "Yuk" Sangerhausen: Thread Dedicated strictly to BS (lampedusa)
By the way: Chuck made me do it:

Be careful there, lampe doddle, these Canajuns will get all upset if you drift off topic...If yer gonna bs, you have to do like they do and start a new thread dedicated strictly to bs.
Re: In Honor of 67Hvn and "Yuk" Sangerhausen: Thread Dedicated strictly to BS (paintdaddy)
The post counts? It's a mystery....who knows. As far as BS goes....I had a productive weekend. Among my exciting "jobs" was defrosting the freezer. This is a job Mrs. C and I do about every 8 years. She got out her hair dryer...I got out the propane torch. Had that sucker "frost free" within an hour. I know....many of you are envious of the exciting life I lead, but I just felt a "need to share". :) Chuck
Re: In Honor of 67Hvn and "Yuk" Sangerhausen: Thread Dedicated strictly to BS (Chuck Gongloff)
A thread dedicated to BS seems the appropriate place to post right now. I've managed to get myself signed back in but it takes between 8 and 10 minutes for each page to load, including reply page. This is the second thread I've opened tonight and the computer has been cooking for over an hour.
Apparently, the ol' Tandy 1000 doesn't like the "Spew and Improved" Forum.
Re: In Honor of 67Hvn and "Yuk" Sangerhausen: Thread Dedicated strictly to BS (Mac)
You know Mac, there's an old expression....."Leave well enough alone". That certainly applies to the current situation. Nuff said.
Sometimes, I log on instantly....other times, I can't get on at all. In those, shall we say "difficult times", it takes 5 minutes to open each thread, OR I get a "time out" message. ????????? Tonight, it's working like a rocket. Chuck

Amen. See? We shall just keep this thread towards the top, and never let it degenerate into "Read Only" status...and you can post here whenever you see fit.

As little activity that there is in here recently staying at the top should not be a problem :D

Or, as Red Green sez, "If it's ain't broke, you're not trying hard enough."

I'm still waiting for a 'rocket' experience. The fastest connection I've had was around three minutes for the page to load. Mostly, it's about 5 minutes. Other times, it's worse. So far, it's been like (I'm struggling for a frustrating enough metaphor) like.... :mad Generally, it takes about twenty minutes to open the FCR index, load a thread and post a reply. I've taken to initiating each step and walking away, either to get a cup of tea or whatever, then I come back later.
It may have something to do with my operating system; I'm not PC based. This may be a contributing factor (or not) but only time will tell. The Forum is the only site I have any difficulty whatsoever accessing.
I had ADSL modem connection so I'm used to reasonable speed. Before the "Spew and Improved" software & hardware change, it took about 30 seconds to load each page. Now, as mentioned above, it takes 5 minutes.
Most other websites load in 5 seconds or so. Heavily graphic pages take about 10 seconds. Why the delay on the Forum? I could never find the problem. I sent an e-mail to forumsupport and they've forwarded it to the software developer.
Re: In Honor of 67Hvn and "Yuk" Sangerhausen: Thread Dedicated strictly to BS (67HEAVEN)
Does it mean anything that my 2000th post involved muttering and whining? I don't think so either. Now that I'm 20% of the way to a custom avatar, will you guys help me decide what picture I should use?
Re: In Honor of 67Hvn and "Yuk" Sangerhausen: Thread Dedicated strictly to BS (Desertdawg)
I think the BS threads are OK, I certainly participate; but now that we are on the "New Forum", we shouldn't deviate too much from the subject intent of the FCR.
My mother still tells me...everything in moderation!
Re: In Honor of 67Hvn and "Yuk" Sangerhausen: Thread Dedicated strictly to BS (FXT)
If we keep one BS thread open for the fun of it. I don't think it will lower the FCR standing too much...
I still read all the other threads here, True I am lurking, but you really don't want me spouting off about a FCR question that I know nothing about...
ie.....
Question: What kind of nut do I need for my "67, 396, M22, FHT???
Re: In Honor of 67Hvn and "Yuk" Sangerhausen: Thread Dedicated strictly to BS (Desertdawg)
Desertdawg, dont feel bad .If it doesnt invlove paint,I am out of the loop.I can disassemble a whole car and assemble a whole car. When I get done ,every inch of the car will look good but likely will not be funtional and definitely will not have "correct bolts" on it.I just have a great interest in what these old timers (no offense)know. As said in the "67 what a year"thread,I am jealous.I wish I could of been there. :seeya
