For those who were asking, here are some pics of my car and the new lift.
Please excuse the water spots all over the underside of the car as it came home 100 miles in the rain last night from the Texas Regionals. I have to get an enclosed trailer! http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrow...elected=107609

Great car and now with the lift, no excuse not to keep the underside nice and clean. I spend my winter with my 67 in the air cleaning and checking nuts and bolts to past the cooold NE nights til spring.
Beautiful car John and a very nice lift. You seem to have gone to so much trouble getting that lift in the garage and now that it's in, the funs begins!
What kind of scheduled maintenance is required for a lift anyway?
Patrick,
Maitenace consists of checking the bolts and cables at least monthly and keeping the sliders lubricated with a light greasing. I did not put the drip shields under the ram as it hides the cable attach fittings as well as the pulleys. I will live with an occasional drip from the hydraulic cylinder as the lift ages to be able to keep an eye on the working parts! Moving the lift is an easy job when it is empty, but contrary to some of the ads you see, moving the lift with a 3000 lb car on top is a job for at least 2 people! I am still waiting for the high lift kit for my door to arrive, and I hope to be able to install it by this weekend.

looks great john! the car,the lift ,and the garage, becarefull installing the high lift for the garage door those springs can be tricky and there is a certain amount of wraps you need to hold the door up.I watched they guy do mine and he used two steel rods in the turner thing whith the holes in it.he set mine at about 12 wraps.I do not know if the spring had a stripe on it or he put the stripe on it but that is how he counted them .your lift looks the same as mine except for the color and my hydrylic hose does not have the armor cable on it. I actually had a 12" hose made to exstend the hose from when it pokes out from underneith thru the side down toward the hydrylic unit just a short hose with 2 90's on it .I hate that hose just sticking out like that I am afraid I am going to step on it. I also purchased a keyed electrical switch so even if it plugged in you must turn the key on to use the electric motor I always lower mine down onto the locks not leacving it up on the cables. If somebody wanted to lower it they would have to raise it up off the locks first.
LOOKS GREAT but dont get to used to it that your not carefull.
So far I had one freind over to use the lift for a saftey check on a 1951 merc he just purchased Talk about heavey the lift was sucking wind .The merc failed the saftey inspection and now has all new brake lines and hoses and also a new braket for one of the shocks just hanging out not attached to anything.
by the way I remember reading the brochure on how long it takes to raise a car up and I was thinking WOW that sounds fast.
Now when I am standing there raising a car up I think holey smokes this takes forever.
Also if you use it for storing another car underneith and its a C5 remember to turn off the radio before driving under we have allready ruined the antena in my C5 it was up and got stuck under the lift when backing out
John looks great! :) You're going to love the lift. Of course I can't say from first hand experience as Greg has been hogging ours since we got it this summer.
Edit - Whoops on the valve cover clip thing. Posted in the wrong window. :jester:
