Site redesign & new server update

For those of you who haven't seen the announcement at the top of the screen, we are working on a redesign of Corvetteforum to bring the appearance and performance up to date.

I leased two new servers. They are quite powerful and have plenty of room to mod them for more horsepower as we grow. This should help with the evening slow down.

I have also hired a professional web company to redesign the site to make it easier to navigate. One of the things that I have had them do is create user selectable themes based on generation of Corvette. This will affect the graphics you see as well as the quick links in the new sidebar.

This new system will replace the old schemes. We have not forgotton about Jerry and the others that like the "Jerry's Font" scheme. I have the company working on a solution so that the large print and yellow on black color scheme will still be available.

I hope to be able to launch the new design within a few weeks. So don't be surprised if you come to the forum one day and it looks different. :)

Free post? That's great- I was getting tired of dropping a dime everytime I hit 'reply' especially since I heard CF is only charging C3 owners- it just isn't fair!

No reply from Troy on my legitimate request for a custom avatar. I have the picture ready to go. Since no news is good news, I'm sure I'll be good to go here soon, right Troy? Right??

Mac, to qualify for an individual avatar you have to have been a Forum member since 1999 or have 10,000 posts. :cheers:

Since I qualify under neither catagorie, I guess I'm outta luck. I guess I was hoping the rules weren't so rigid. Oh well! I deal well with adversity.

Hey Mac, If you really want a new avatar...Just start picking on a moderator...

Be relentless, and harsh...then somewhere in you harassing thread, post a pic of the avatar that you want... saying this is the stupidest, ugliest picture that you have seen....

Then the next morning, you will awaken to a nice surprise...

Hi Jerry,

I had expected to have the fonts for you before we launched. Unfortunately they aren't quite ready yet.

I wanted to get on the new servers asap so I could stop paying for the old one.

Hi Troy or George, can you give us an update on the font settings here...have they been enabled yet, and WHERE is it located? I think the font size, including the Jerry font was located in our profile page, so you could adjust it accordingly. Any news? Thanks, Patrick :)

We've been working on fixing some problems for Mac users. The fonts are still on the list. I hope that we will get them finished next week.
