Identifying an original 64 spare tire
I have a 1964 Corvette with what looks to be an original spare, I'm told they did not have DOT #'s on them. This tire has #'s on a pad simliar to DOT #'s would this be some kind of serial #, let me know what you think the # is 215282G40H.

Should have thought of that, hopefully the link works, it's a 6.7-15 General Jet-Air

It's a possibility...what kind of shape is the tire in? Has it been used? Are there any signs that the wheel has had a tire removed and replaced? Is the paint on the back of the rim, where it would contact the brake drum, scuffed or is is still look new?
BTW, not to be overly critical, but the tire size is 6.70-15...

I used a magnifying glass of the picture, wasn't thinking, I new it was a 6.70, Looks like the hubcap was on it once, looks like a new tire will look at backside, but believe it was probably used one time.
