Default Did '72 have floormats?

I have a '72 convertible. I haven't found anyone that knows if the early C3 came with floormats. Haven't seen anything in the NCRS judging guide.

I have seen the black and clear rubber mats (as well as the carpet ones).
I have deluxe interior. Would like to get the correct mats to go in it.

Thanks.

I don't think so, but don't quote me on that. I'm fairly certain if black or clear mats were available, they were dealer options.

The 72 sales brochure lists floor mats as being optional. It talks about clear mats being available that let the carpet color be seen through them. I think the black rubber ones were available too. The black rubber ones may have become standard around 74(?) and the carpeted ones were first offered around 76 or 77.

Thanks gbvette62.
I just replaced my interior and would like to keep the carpet in good shape.

The floor mats were dealer installed items, not factory. That's why they're not mentioned in the NCRS literature.
