Default Courtesy Light Bulb Socket

On my '69, the snap-in bulb socket for the LH (driver side) under dash courtesy light is missing. The bracket that holds the socket has a 3/4 inch hole and I can't find a replacement socket for this anywhere. I know that the socket has to be a 2 wire socket and that the socket can't ground to the bracket. So, I assume it's a plastic socket. I can find a 2 wire plastic socket that is for a 5/8" hole but not for a 3/4" hole.

Anybody know where I can get one? Help will be appreciated.

I don't know why so many of those sockets are missing from 68 up Corvettes. I've cut off and sold every one I had on old junk harnesses. The big wiring companies (Lectric Limited, M & H, etc.) won't sell sockets, they want to sell you a complete harness! I remember that Eagle Wiring use to sell those sockets separate, when they where in Tenn. The company was sold about 2 years ago and moved to Ohio. With the change in ownership, I don't know if they will still sell those sockets separately, but they could be worth a try. I don't have their number at home here, but a quick search of the net would probably turn it up.

I thought this was the correct lamp bracket for the drivers side.

Here it is in place.

Yes, that is the same bracket I have. But, it's the bulb socket I can't find.

Btw, I know one of the cables is the trip odometer reset, but what is the other cable for? I don't have anything in that other hole on mine.

Damn it Roger, my reading skills are getting worse every day.

I may have a socket for you, give me a couple days and I'll see if I do.

The 2nd cable is to set the speed-warning.

That would be cool!

Oh, I guess that speed-warning on the speedo must be an option. Mine doesn't have it.

The speed warning was an option not many ordered it and even with stock exhaust it was pretty useless. With side pipes totally useless!

Sorry Roger, I know I didn't cut the sockets out of this harness but they are gone.

I took my bracket with me to the generic auto parts joint and searched through the open stock until I found a replacement. It isn't GM, but it works and does not show once it's installed in the bracket.

I searched in several auto parts stores around here and haven't found anything that will work.
I don't suppose you save your receipt that might have a part#?
