THIS IS FOR ALL YOU GUYS OUT THERE
that always wanted to TUNE YOUR CORVETTE
but you were too CHICKEN TO DO IT!

Ok, here's the deal...

There's a very large number of you (chickens) out there
that have been asking me to find a way to make you a
SPARE computer so that you could leave your ORIGINAL
PCM untouched.

Many of you have called and PM'd me about it and I've
always been quick to tell you that I didn't A) THINK IT
WAS NECESSARY
and B) THINK IT COULD WORK WITHOUT
DISABLING YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM.

WELL, GUESS WHAT?

Today a nice man with an 08 A6 came in for the routine VARARAM/STAT/TUNE package and I asked him if we could use his car for a TEST.

08 and later software gets more and more tricky when it comes to this type of stuff so this car was the perfect test vehicle.

I took a new E38 controller off the shelf and BENCH FLASHED it by VIN# to make an EXACT COPY of his original PCM and installed it in the car.

AS EXPECTED, THE CAR DID NOT START due to the VATS (vehicle anti theft system) security KEY mismatch. This prevents your car from being stolen.

The next step here was to modify the computer so that it had the correct security code to start. This worked PERFECTLY here in the shop, but will require you to perform a VERY SIMPLE procedure to make the car actually accept the new computer as it's own.

This part I always knew I could do. What I wasn't actually sure about (especially for the newest cars) was that if you installed the new computer, would it cause the original not to start the car...

Well, After teaching the car to accept the NEW PCM and starting it several times, we decided to swap the computers a few more times to be ABSOLUTELY SURE that EITHER COMPUTER would continue to work.

What this now means is that you can actually have 2 computers for your car and the security system will continue to work regardless of which PCM is installed.

BELOW ARE IMAGES OF THE DIFFERENT C6 COMPUTERS

RIGHT NOW, I HAVE A LARGE
INVENTORY of NEW E38 ENGINE CONTROLLERS for about
$299. each keeping in mind that they cost nearly $400.
bucks at the dealer. When my inventory runs out, they
will go back to full retail price.

E40 CONTROLLERS for 05 VETTES cost a few bucks more.

SO, IF YOU WANT ME TO TUNE
YOUR VETTE...

BUT, YOU'RE KINDA
CHICKEN

CHUCK COW CAN DO IT FOR YOU!

The cool thing here is also that if your VETTE is your daily driver, tuning your car won't disable your vehicle for more than 20 minutes. Mail order tuning usually requires you to give up use of your vehicle for 3 or 4 days while I have your computer. NOT ANY MORE!

Instructions for removing the PCM can be found in the LINK BELOW.

If you have futher questions, PLEASE CALL the shop.

It's difficult to answer each and every question in public posts.
