Default 68 radio?

Is a 1968 corvette radio different from the other c3 model years up to 76? Ive heard that corvettes from 68 to 76 used nearly the same radio or?

68-76 are generally the same. 68-71's have the green tint lettering (like the rest of your gauges) where 72-76 have white lettering. On 68's the knobs are unique to 68 (and shared with some Nova's, 67-68?). 69-71's use a different knob (chrome with black centers and shared with some Camaros and Chevelles) and 72-76 use the tall, black plastic knobs with the international symbols on them. The knobs are interchangable between all year radios. 68-76 radios all had a separate amp that was mounted to the firewall. 68's amps were different than 69-76's, but I think the plug is the same on all the amps. Mono and stereo radios were available from 68-76. Stereo radios can be identified by a small "stereo" logo in the lower (right?) corner of the dial lens and used a larger amp than the mono radio used.

Stereo output

Mono output

Anything 68-76 will fit your '68 without having to cut the bezel.
