90 Vette popup lights problem

I have a 90 Vette with 51K miles and always garage kept. My car was disabled for about 10 months. I got it fixed. When I turn on the lights they popup a little slow and sometimes get stuck before opening to the correct position. Nothing is obstructing the lights. Before the car was down I never had any problems with them. What can I do.

Battery in good shape? Otherwise, sounds like the gears in the motors. The factory originals are plastic and can deteriorate with age. The aftermarket providers offer bronze replacements.

its not the gears that go bad it is the bushings that are inbetween the gear and the shaft that runs out to the links that position the light up or down.


Click on the link you need the bushings not the gear the gear is a waste of cash unless yours are toast, pull the motors and check them out it might seem a bit intimidating on the first light bt once ou get it back together then youll go fast on the other light.
