Does anyone know where I can get a decent repo (shape, size, finish) of an RC-15 radiator cap for my '72? Thanks for all of your previous help - you guys know your stuff!
That one's not even close - here's an original production-line RC-15 (not a later service replacement).
Interesting - are you saying the one I linked to is a "later service replacement"? I've not been able to find anything else anywhere that looks like it, though I know AC-Delco sold it to another car manufacturer and was original equipment on that manufacturer's limited production car.
James the link you posted I believe is for a cap made for England I have seen the bottom or underside of those caps and that's what they look like. They will work on US cars but the config is not even close top or bottom for a GM car. Paul
Paragon has an excellent repro (#1785) that's zinc-plated just like the original; the ears on the GM replacement are too small, and it's stainless.
Actually the Paragon one is "OK" at best. It's not their fault - they just resell the most common one available.
Long Island has a nice one made just for them, as does oldcarstuff.com out of New Jersey. I'd buy one of those before I'd buy the repro sold by the other parts houses.

Patrick - That post of mine was two years ago, before your article.
