1972 454. My bypass hose has the tower style hose clamps which, I think, are the correct ones. I am detailing the engine compartment - should the clamps be painted Chevy Orange or not painted?
The bypass hose and both clamps were in place when the engine was painted; although a mask was used, there was some level of overspray on the hose and clamps - varied a lot. Judges will want to see at least a little orange there.

All the pics I found of original cars show tower clamps everywhere, smog, etc. The only problem is it is so congested in that area, you can't see what type are on the bypass. One pic had a worm clamp on the upper rad hose at the thermostat, but towers on the smog and such, so maybe the worm was a replacement.
