Default Destination Charges

I have my 1974 coupe restored and have a window sticker to display with the car at shows. The only info I'm missing to complete it is the destination charge. I have even contacted GM Vintage but they don't have that in their records. Where would I find out the destination charges in 1974? Thanx.

I'm sure Triple-A Enterprises (www.window-sticker.com) has it, but they'll want you to buy one of their repro window stickers.

$224.00 destination charge on my '80. I'm guessing '74 would have been a little less.

I'm curious whether the destination charge was a flat rate added to every Corvette, or whether the amount varied depending upon where the car was shipped.

Mike,

Currently, the destination charge is a flat rate, but "back in the day" the charge was the actual fee to ship a car from the plant to a given dealership. If you lived close to St. Louis, your Corvette was cheaper than someone who bought one in Los Angeles. John might have an idea when the practice of unique destination charges actually stopped, but I know it was alive and well at least through the early 1970s.

John's advice is probably the best simply because Bill at Triple A has thousands of window stickers in his database and may have one from the dealership where this car was delivered showing the actual destination charge... Or at least a dealership close to it so you can ball park a guess.

Regards,

Thanx for the info. I contacted Triple A and ordered a sticker. I already had all the other info from the GM Vintage dept. Basically a build sheet. Thanx again and happy cruisin'
