Default 68 Exhaust Help

I have a '68 427/400hp/auto. Its time to replace the exhaust and I'm not sure what to do. I suppose an aluminized system would be more durable (appearance wise) for a longer period of time but I'm doing an NCRS resto so I'm torn between that and the correct carbon steel (assuming someone reproduces exact replacements). Anyone have any input?

And most importantly, regardless of the decision who is the best vendor for either system?

I'd go with aluminized - the carbon steel systems will rust almost immediately; the finish deduction for an aluminized system is only two points, maximum. Allen's, Paragon, and Corvette Central all make systems that will score about the same and fit well; nobody makes a system that exactly duplicates the original factory pipes (flattened areas, kinks, wrinkles, etc.).

Thanks. I appreciate the reply. I'll go with the aluminized system.
