Default john z need your help

my 68 427/390 doesn't have the original alternator, I'm not sure how to tell if it's a TI car or not lets say it's not and requires the 37 A alternator.

on my door jam it reads D07, that stands for Nov. 67 built 68 car.

ok so the date code on the alternator when I find it should be dated...... 7k or before correct? the 7 = 67 and the k = nov. is that how you decode the date?

or should my alternator I'm looking for be 8 something for 68?

believe correct alternator model is 1100693

I think it can be made 6 months prior to the NOV. 67 build date of my car so actually a alternator off a 67 would work correct? unless it was a early 67 car, or ofcourse one that came off a early 68 like mine.

am i straight on this or not? lol

7K is October 1967. November is L, but you'd have to be the first few days and that would be tight.

1100693 for no TI, 1100696 with TI
