Default Were 69 convertibles available with hard top only? No soft top?

I found one that just has a hardtop. Were they ever sold this way when new? I know the hardtop was an option but I didnt think you could get one without a soft top.

I can't believe you could get a vert without a soft top. Two of my buddies have 69 verts, and they both have soft tops. Only one of them has a hard top. My guess is the soft top was damaged at some point and the seller decided it was too expensive to replace.

I could not find this info but thought that they could be had this way. Where did you find the info Mark out of curiousity. The black book does not mention it at all.

I was not sure about C3's, but I had a friend with a 59 that had hard top only and there was no evidence that it had everhad a soft top installed.

I looked for my 69 Corvette Guidebook, but couldn't find it since we moved. I did that from memory. I'll see if I can find a more authoritative source tonight.

You could order the optional hardtop, then get a credit for deleting the folding top. The hardtop came painted body color, or you could choose the optional black vinyl trim (C08).

Pretty sure that white vinyl was a hardtop option too.

Found my 69 guidebook. It does not have a definitive answer. It says softop was a free option C05. It says hardtop was an option for $252.80, C07. Add vinyl covering was $57.95, C08. On page 20 it leads you to believe that there were cars built with only a hardtop-"On cars with only the hardtop...". Guess we should ask this question on the NCRS site.

From page 11 of an original 1969 Corvette brochure, "Removable hardtop for Convertible (may be specified as standard in lieu of folding convertible top)". Also the vinyl cover for the hardtop is only listed as available in black. The soft top is listed as available in black or white.
