Default 1975 Control Arm Shaft finish?

I'm restoring my car to factory specs and need to know from someone that has an original car if the control arm (A-Arm) shaft is painted or natural finish. The NCRS manual is specific about the finish on the Control Arm, bolts, and retainers but doesn't specify the shaft. Does anybody know for sure?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Through all of my research I found that my car came with black painted control arm shafts. I also learned that there were cars in earlier and later years that came with natural finishes.

From the Prince Restoration Guide ... section on 73-77:

Control arm cross shafts are painted semi-gloss
black on some cars and unpainted on others. Cars with
painted cross shafts typically have control arm bush-
ing retention washers and bolts that are also painted
semi-gloss black. Cars with unpainted cross shafts typ-
ically have retention washers that are gray phosphate
plated and bolts that are black phosphate plated.

Most of the ones I have seen are just plain rusty.
Maybe they had paint at one point - probably not.
I recall my 75 retention washers did not appear painted.

Thanks for the additional info about the retention washers. Yeah, all of my washers and bolts were unfinished except one was yellow cad plated; obviously it was an aftermarket replacement. The unfinished ones were slightly rusted but mainly just dirty.
