Default 70 Wiper bay sealer and finishes

What is the stuff that the factory used to seal the wiper bay? Whatever it was sure made a mess. Looks like they just poured it on in some areas while some of the sealant looks like some type of paintable sealer around the wiper arm transmissions and wiper door actuator assembly reinforcements.

Also, what was assembled in the bay when they blacked out the bay?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Bill

Black out was probably done with everything there except the wiper arms. I can't recall the specific product used to seal ther area, but it is listed in the AIM without its trade name.

There was almost nothing in the bay when it was blacked out - it was done in the Paint Shop, before any trim or hardware parts were installed. The sealer was a conventional paintable vinyl plastisol brushable seam sealer, applied with a flow gun, then brushed out.
