I've been looking for a carb for my 70 LT-1. It is a Feb build car with engine stamp of 0203. What would be the latest date that would be considered "correct".
A correct date for your carburetor would be dependent upon the build date of your Corvette, not the engine assembly date. Each date (engine assembly date and carb date) should precede the build date of your LT-1 by no more than six weeks (most common span) and no less than three weeks. This allowed the necessary parts needed to assemble your LT-1 to be manufactured, shipped to St. Louis, and on hand by the date your car started down the assembly line. If your engine is coded February 3, your carb date ought to be about the same but not necessarily match. Your LT-1 could be expected to have a mid March build date if the six week time span is used. These are very general guidelines, but common. Lots of things could have occurred to to affect the dates.
From a judging perspective, dated components get full credit up to six months prior to the car's final assembly date; two to six weeks is more "typical", but you're allowed up to six months.
Thanks for the replies. They are exactly what I needed to know. The build date on my trim tag is Feb 23. So I guess a carb as late as the first or maybe second week of Feb should work.

key off of the final assembly date per VIN-derived birthday, rather than the body built date from the T Tag
Your best bet would be to get a look at the '70 LT-1 registry done by the NCRS member and compare other known LT-1 cars with original carburetors and cars with similar build dates. See what dates are on these cars and then proceed to locate a properly dated carb.
Probably at Bloomington or Carlisle would be a good place to chat with other LT-1 owners and see their cars.

If the engine sat in inventory before going into a car the dates may fall way before the car was assembled. Dated parts always preceed the assembly they go into.

no, carb was not put on engine as part of the assembly that took place before the "engine assembly date" per the pad. Verified info. Drop dead date for carb would be the birthday, but carbs were binned items and also not the last thing installed on the final line, so carb dates 2-6 weeks preceeding BIRTHDAY are typically found, I believe.
