Default trim rings with 2 valve stem holes

title says it all. I've got a trim ring on my ralley's with 2 valve stem holes about 6-8" apart. Looks like factory.

A local club member says it was a factory mess-up and worth some money. Said to hang on to it.

Any body know anything about it?

Unlike a double stamped coin factory mistakes are not valuable and can actually detract from the originality of your car. If you were to have your car judged you would have to try and prove the trim ring came from the factory that way to avoid a point deduction....not an easy task.

Might be an interesting item for people who collect "mistakes"; put it on eBay with "RARE, RARE, L@@K, L@@K, L-88, 427" in the description and some nut-case might go for it.

I'll buy it if you can find me a matching rim to go with it. One valve to put the air in, the other to let the air out.
