I have a 1969 convertible sb. I just bought a replacement car jack and spring holder for 1968-82 from Ecklers. The jack will not fit in the tray. Could anyone post a picture of their jack in the tray to see how it fits?
James, the 69 jack goes in the far right compartment behind the passenger seat. Pull the black storage compartment out and you should see the bracket that the hold down spring goes on at the bottom of the compartment. The jack sits upright in the fully down position.

THanks for the help. Unfortunately, the new Eckler's jack just won't fit in the compartment behind the passenger's seat (farthest left). I've tried the jack in several positions (scissored up, scissored down, cross, angled etc.) It just won't fit in. That's why I was hoping to get a photo to see if there is some trick. Possibly the 68-82 Eckler's replacement doesn't fit in a 1969 convertible? Thanks for the advice.
I can tell you that it's a real PIA to get an original jack in. Try this trick. Remove the handle...don't try to put the jack in with the handle tucked under the support until you get the hang of it.
If you look at the bottom of the passengers compartment, there's a debossed area in the shape of the base plate of the jack. That's where it fits. After you get it in place, the spring/clip goes over it. Once you've got that figured out, then try it with the handle in place.
That being said, I have NO IDEA what the replacement jack you bought looks like, and unfortunately, I don't have a pic of an original handy. Chuck

The jack in my '68 is probably not original, but it fits into the jack storage area with the handle in the stowed position. Stranger things have happened, but Eckler's may have sent you the wrong jack.
