Default 75 350 water pump question

Does anybody know if there were casting numbers on the original water pump? It appears that everything else on my engine is original and I want to return it to original condition. If there were casting or part numbers on the pump; what are they? I'm interested in purchasing one if anyone has one for sale or knows where I can get one.

Yes, the original water pump had a casting number and date on it, although neither is judged - can't be seen with the pulley installed. I don't have a '75 JG that shows the correct '75 casting number - perhaps someone else here does.

Correct casting number is 330818. The casting date format is a letter A-L representing the months Jan-Dec, followed by one or two digits for the day of the month, followed by a single digit for the year.

July 26 1974 would be F264.

You might want to go to your local supply house to see what's in stock. You might get lucky.

There's a guy on E-Bay that sells factory rebuilt units (he rebuilds them). I wanted a correct one last year and I rolled the dice. Since it's cheap, I think I paid around $20 and it's ez to do. Well it's been running fine for a year now...

The pump I have is a replacement that doens't have any casting numbers. It works fine but I don't want to use it since everything else is being replaced to meet NCRS specs.

I just ordered a pump from Dr. Rebuild, hope it's correct.

Thanks for the information Mike. I tried several local parts stores with no luck.

I'd be suprised if "the one you ordered" is the "correct, original" one you're looking for. It's probably a "brand new A/C Delco" unit that is available at any A/C Delco parts jobber

When looking for "correct, older castings", usually you have to contact Corvette Salvage Yards OR like people in Hemming's Motor News that advertise & offer for sale "correct, original, dated" water pumps.

Default correct pump

The pump I received from Dr. Rebuild is the correct pump with the correct casting numbers as described in the NCRS judging manual. I've been pleased with their quality parts, service, and delivery times.

I've also ordered amny, many times from Dr. Rebuild and thought he has excellent parts & service too, I just didn't know he had these "correct casting" pumps. It's great to know.
