I has a 99 z28 10 years ago. Now I have a 97 C5 with 427rwhp and I just picked up a 2000 Trans am . The f body is my new toy. I did some cosmetic things but just ordered long tubes.
Any advice for install is much appreciated. Do both side have to go in from the bottom?

What brand of LTs? And yes both from the bottom generally for LTs. Remove the driveshaft and remove the trans mount as well. Will enable you to move the engine a little for wiggle room. Are you installing cats or deleting? I would remove the AIR system and EGR at the same time and open up a lot of engine bay room. All of this will require a tune, but so will LTs as the LS1 will run rich without it.

I still have my 85 Trans Am. I had to get rid of my 93 Trans Am a couple of years ago with 217,000 miles on the original motor and transmission because it faile smog and was labeled a triple and double polluter. It was not worth bringing it into compliance with California smog laws.
Here is a pic of my 85.

I've been doing a ton of research on the C5 and C6 lately. Long story short, I'll be relocating to Roseville CA next fall and I've made the decision to sell my SS due to it not being smog legal.
How do you guys like driving the vette compared to the F-Body? What do you miss the most when comparing the two?
I'm leaning towards C5 Z06. I think with a 25K budget I can pick up a nice one.
What do you guys think?

1st gen my all time fav car period would love to have another...and DD it.
Those bodies have so much character it never gets old
They are just so darn much dont think Ill ever have one again.
Heck would be happy with a reg non anything optioned one just to have.
Tried the vette thing out in the 90s....and again around 04 as they were cheap. Turn around to go back to Fbodys wow way unaffordable. What happened....lol

My 1987 IROC 350 TPI. I ordered the car in December of '86 and picked it up at the dealership in March of '87. SOLD it in 2005 with 20,200 original miles on the clock

85 2.8L camaro, 88 5.7L formula, 97 SS camaro, 10 GS vette!
love those 3rd gen fbodies... looks clean, easy to work on, and while very creaky, not bad handling at all!
