Yes, when Alabama DMV entered the VIN they apparently transposed some numbers making it seem as though I sold my car or I was now registering it in Alabama. It finally got worked as I had no problem this year.

This is the reason I will never buy a car that doesnt have a title. Lots of states just issue a bill of sale after 15 years. There is a site in Hemmings located in Alabama that will get you a title for 200 bucks. In PA we always have the hard copy title, In NY they use a registration card. I suspect the Alabama title was a remake maybe using your Vin but a fake vin plate which you can buy if you search the web.
