Camaro z/28 model run questions......
Hey guys, I was under the impression that the z/28 was a very limited model, likely one year, due to using up left over LS7's, and that in fact the LS7 is no longer in production.
Can any of you enlighten me on this? Are they gonna be around for a couple years, is GM still building LS7 engines?
Thanks

Mike,
Go to Camaro5.com, join & ask the question. Those guys are extremely knowledgeable re: 5th Gen Camaro.
The 2014 Camaro brochure is on there as a pdf. In the brochure, they list the Z28 as available Spring 2014, w LS7 V8, hand-assembled, 500 hp, 470 lb-ft. of torque, titanium intake valves & connecting rods, forged steel crankshaft.
I'm not an LS7 expert, but it appears that the engine has been tweaked some for the Z28 vs. just being a leftover Z06 engine.
Hope this helps. Oh, and bring yours by my house in Maryland in the spring when you take delivery!

Thanks for the response Rickman! I totally forgot about Camaro5.com, I will definitely be heading over there to ask.
Unfortunately I'm not in the market for one, but was having a discussion about it with some other folks. They were under the impression that it will be around for a few model years, where as I thought t was more of a one year kinda deal to help make use of a surplus of LS7's.

WOW!
That's quite a video, especially near the end, where that portion of the track is being rained on, yet the driver is still going 140+ MPH!!!

I like that video around the two minute mark. He comes out of a corner at 60 mph, about 4,200 rpm, takes it all the way to 7,000 and goes from 60 to 105 like it's a joke. Amazing grunt.
