Technically no, F-body refers to the platform all the first through fourth gen Camaros and Firebirds were built on. The current fifth gen is on the Zeta platform, making it not truly an F-body.

I already posted my white Trans Am. It was one of very few 4th gen Trans Ams to have factory red interior.
Well here is my first ever car. An 86 Trans Am that I still haven't sold. Dang, I was a geek at 14-15. LOL.
Here is another one owner WS6 I had. I bought it during winter and be owner didn't want me drive it home in the snow. He would have been upset to see these pics
Recently had this one too.
And just because I'm in the mood to post pics today, here is the one I had the longest.
This first one is before it was lowered on Eichbach springs, along with Koni adjustable shocks and SLP sway bars. This is also before the procharger.
Loved that car.

Thanks for posting the video. I watched the whole thing, and that was some epic stuff. How much would it cost to buy, or build a car like that, and what sanctioning body/ class do you run it in? Is it a vintage deal where you have passing rules to help with not wrecking these great looking cars? It looked to me like you guys were flat out. FUN!

This is Historic/Vintage racing.
Here is a link to the late model trans am/imsa gto group.

Cost of historic race cars varies widely based on history.
Championship winning collectible cars go at a premium.
Awards are given for preservation as it was raced in the day, not finishing order.
Safe passing is the responsibility of the overtaking car.
As they say in the driver's meeting...
"Your car already has race history, the only history you can make for it now is bad history".
Here are a couple of race groups we frequent.

Used vintage race cars can be found in some of the historic/vintage race magazines.

This weekend we will be racing at Sonoma.

I will this summer after I get the decals on it.
It was Andy Porterfields last race car.
He raced it till he was 82.
Andy had a record 400+ wins in his long racing career.

Here's a pic of my '89 TTA. Great car, and it's for sale. If interested, PM me for details.
Also had a 1984 Trans Am that I restored a few years ago. Sold it in 2013 and it now lives in Norway.
