Well I have been waiting to do this. The Texas State fair is going on in Dallas now, and Chevy has a very strong presence this year. They have a test track as to where you can 'slowly' test several of their chevy's except of course for our vettes, but we already know how great they are. I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED with the Camaro. The instruments were neat inside, but the quality was horrid. I will NEVER EVER complain again about my vette's interior! I thought the ride was rough, and I almost needed a booster seat to see out over the dash, and I am 5'11.
I am sooooooooooooo happy to have driven this car. It confirms my love of the corvette. I will say though the Camaro is a nice looking car, but our vette's are within a class of their own. IMO.
I wanted to drive one but cant fit in the drivers seat .. there is no headroom for 6'3 person..
Seats were very nice... But then I got back in the vette.. It fits me like a glove.. I love this car..

On a different note.Just got back home from a visit to Grapevine, this was the best auto show I think i've ever seen.
The Camaro has always been a Camaro. From day one in '67 it was perhaps half what a '67 vette was. No different since or today. Specifically, as a heavy, brick shaped, fast sedan it's not bad. I prefer the Charger and get the two confused on the street.
The interior is a mess and cheap. The exterior is pretty ugly IMO.
At least, in some Camaro generations, while it was still inferior to the vette of the same year, it was attractive as well. Now, it seems like a gross cartoon to me.
I've owned many gen one Camaros. I was considering buying a '10 for nostalgia purposes. ( I'm 60. ) But, I would not want to be seen in the thing. It's just that simple.
I think it's sailing on some kind of demand bubble due to being absent for a few years. Once that bubble is popped I think the thing will flop....remember, most of these 4000 lb cruisers are going to have 6 cylinder engines and be slow by the measure of any generation.
If someone gave me one of the highest hp '10s and I had to keep it I'd fry the tires off and powershift the thing until it broke. I don't think that would take long. Camaros mostly end up from owner to owner getting worse and worse as subsequent owners cut holes in the hood, jack up the rear, and break the engine and drivetrain trying to be #1 head tomcat in their mobile home park.

This is the most mature post I have ever seen, even more so from a 60 year old..
It's a neat looking car, however, GM missed the boat with the retro look. The Camaro is a long shot from a 69 Camaro. Ford and Chrysler did a good job with the Mustang and Challenger.
i agree, this year's gm presense at the texas fair is great. they had many vettes with people swarming around them and taking tons of pictures. that's a great thing to see.
the thing that kills me, someday someone will buy one of those vettes that thousands of folks placed their hind-end in during the fair. i hope some dealer discloses that info. thankfully, folks were not allowed in the zr1! i wonder if they would discount that grand sport? -not!
btw, i had NO intention of offending new camaro owners out there. i just thought that the car would have driven a bit better. maybe it does once you get it on the road. i just was glad to confirm my desire for the vette that's all.
Couldn't see? I guess the one you drove did not have a power seat. I am 5'7" and the SS I rented I could adjust the seat so much that I could touch the ceiling with my head. I let someone shorter than me drive it and she had not problems seeing.
I put 2000 miles in the SS and thought the ride was just fine and the nice stiff chassis took the bumps very well without flexing. Better than my C5s every did.

Wow. I have a Gallardo and was not embarassed to spend a week in the new SS Camaro (I have a '68 have had it for 18 years). I have posted this before but in the week of driving a Cyber Gray camaro it got many looks and people commenting that they really like the car.
